When Aesthetica meets skin, skin health is redefined. Aesthetica is the India’s No. 1 choice of skin care professionals and consumers, recognized worldwide.
We're not pretty (Or beautiful. Or pampering. Or luxury.) We’re far too interested in guiding you to a new level of skin health fitness!
At Aesthetica, our professional skin therapists are trained at the International Dermal Institute. They are the most highly trained professionals in the industry. Think of a professional skin therapist as a specialist for your skin. We are dedicated to getting real results.
A lot of clients talk about facials and at Aesthetica we talk about skin treatments and the difference is clear. A facial is something that is indulgent or pampering. A skin treatment is specific to that client's skin, designed specifically for them by an expert skin therapist and the results are unequaled.
At Aesthetica, a synergistic combination of these expertise and services provide you with a holistic skin care solution.
Acne is a skin condition that is commonly referred to as ‘pimples’ or ‘zits’. Though it is a skin condition, it probably causes more damage to the patient's psyche than to the skin.
Most people think acne is a disorder of teenagers. However, it can affect people of any age. The condition is not life-threatening, but it can lead to scarring of the skin, and hence, prompt treatment is essential. Treatments can combat acne from the roots and provide healthy skin, along with a feeling of general well-being and renewed self-esteem.
Acne is a part of puberty for a large number of people, besides being one of the most common skin diseases. Acne is characterised by pimples on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, back and upper arms, and is seen when the skin pores get clogged due to excess sebum (oil) production.
The condition surfaces at any age, but is more common among teenagers. It affects both sexes equally, but differently. Young men tend to get more severe outbreaks, whereas women tend to have an intermittent pattern, which is usually related to their menstrual cycles.
Acne can be seen as tiny, whitish bumps on the skin (white heads), black dots (blackheads), tiny, painful, red bumps or pus-filled, painful swelling. In a majority of the cases, the condition begins around the age of 10 to 13 years. Certain studies cite that almost 85 to 100% people between the ages of 12 and 17 years have had at least occasional whiteheads, blackheads or pimples.
You may consider acne as a simple skin infection, but it is not. It occurs due to complex interaction of changing hormones, sebum and a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes. Since it is a serious skin concern, opting for home remedies like washing your face frequently, drinking lots of water etc. might not turn out to be effective. Hence, we suggest seeking professional help.
The first step towards knowing about acne starts with understanding our skin. To keep our skin healthy and supple, our skin's sebaceous or oil producing glands produce sebum. Acne breakouts happen when oil and dead skin cells clog up our skin's pores, helping the bacteria to multiply and leading into acne breakouts. As the bacterium multiplies, our immune system reacts to it in the form of pus, redness, itchiness or pain. Most common acne prone area is your face. However, some people may experience this on other body areas like chest, arms, neck and back. To know how to prevent acne breakouts, visit our clinics.
At Aesthetica, we believe that a 360° holistic approach is necessary in treating and controlling acne, leading to clearer skin. When you step into our clinics, our expert dermatologists begin the session with a thorough in-depth skin and health analysis to diagnose the causes of your acne. Whether it is diet, lifestyle or stress that is leading to the breakout. Basis their detailed observation, and depending on the type and severity of acne, a combination of advanced peels, services and medications are customized for you. This will help you treat and control your acne.
Our dermatologists also ensure that your skin heals properly so that pigmentation and scarring is minimized. They will also advise you on the Right Diet and other do's and don'ts that will help you avoid acne in the future.
Some of the major treatments for the types include – Active Mild Acne, Active Severe Acne, Body Acne, Acne related Pigmentation, Acne Scars and Other major types.
Moles are growths on the skin that are usually brown or black. Moles can appear anywhere on the skin, alone or in groups.
Most moles appear in early childhood and during the first 25 years of a person's life. It is normal to have between 10-40 moles by adulthood.
As the years pass, moles usually change slowly, becoming raised and/or changing color. Sometimes, hairs develop in the mole. Some moles may not change at all, while others may slowly disappear over time.
Moles occur when cells in the skin grow in a cluster instead of being spread throughout the skin. These cells are called melanocytes, and they make the pigment that gives skin its natural color. Moles may darken after exposure to the sun, during the teen years, and during pregnancy.
Most moles do not require treatment. A dermatologist will remove a mole that:
Bothersome (rubs against clothing, etc.)
Unattractive to a patient
Suspicious (could be skin cancer)
Generally Moles are treated with Use One of these Procedures:
Surgical excision: The dermatologist cuts out the entire mole and stitches the skin closed if necessary. Your mole will also be looked at under a microscope by a specially trained doctor. This is done to check for cancer cells. If cancer cells are found, your dermatologist will let you know.
Surgical shave: The dermatologist uses a surgical blade to remove the mole. In most cases, a specially trained doctor will examine your mole under a microscope. If cancer cells are found, your dermatologist will let you know.
At Aesthetica, you can arrive for consultation with our dermatology experts to have an assessment of these moles. According to the initial physical examination and other diagnostic tests, we will be able to tell the most proper course of action that would be possible for your mole, by either laser ablation or surgical excision, and then tissue test of the given moles. All of these would be explained in full detail to you, so that the most appropriate aspect can be chosen.
Warts are raised bumps on your skin caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Warts have plagued humans for thousands of years — they have been discovered on 3,000-year-old mummies and were mentioned by Shakespeare. Although warts generally aren’t dangerous, they are ugly, potentially embarrassing, and contagious. They can also be painful.
There are more than 100 types of HPV, the virus that causes warts. Almost all types of HPV cause relatively harmless warts that appear on your hands or feet. However, there are a few strains of HPV that cause warts on, in, and around your genitals. In women, these warts — called “genital warts” — can eventually lead to cervical cancer, a potentially fatal disease. If you think you have genital warts or think you have been exposed to them, you should see a doctor right away.
At Aesthetica Wart treatments include:
-Acids to peel away the skin and take warts with it.
-Medicine in a cream to smooth on the warts or in a pill to take by mouth.
-Ice-cold liquid nitrogen to freeze the warts.
-Shot in the wart to stimulate the immune system.
-Lasers and other equipment to burn off the warts.
-Special surgery to take off the warts.
Molluscum bumps will go away on their own. But it can take months, and maybe even years. Also, there are no treatments you can use at home. So, if you don't want to wait for them to go away, or they are spreading, visit us for an effective solution.
A scar is a mark left on your skin after an injury heals.
When you injure your skin — by accident or from a surgery — your body works to repair the wound. The body creates collagen (a tough fiber in your body that gives the skin strength and flexibility) to reconnect the tissues broken apart by the injury. While the body does this work, it creates a scab over the wound. The scab protects the wound from germs as the body heals.
When the injured skin is repaired, the scab dries up and falls off. In its place, there may or may not be a scar. If there is a scar, it can be pale pink, brown, or silver.
How your scar looks depends on:
-How big and deep your wound is
-Where it is
-How long it takes to heal
-Your age
-Your inherited tendency to scar
Scars usually fade over time but never go away completely. If the way a scar looks bothers you, various treatments might minimize it. These include surgical revision, dermabrasion, laser treatments, injections, chemical peels, and creams.
Some important procedures at Aesthetica for scar treatments include –
-Chemical Peels
-Dermabrasion
-Facial Scar Revision
-Laser Therapy
-Proper Wound Care
-Scar revision
-Skin smoothing surgery
These are several different types of scars including:
- Keloid scars. These scars are the result of an overly aggressive healing process. They extend beyond the original injury. Over time, a keloid scar may hamper movement. Treatments include surgery to remove the scar, steroid injections, or silicone sheets to flatten the scar. Smaller keloids can be treated using cryotherapy (freezing therapy using liquid nitrogen). You can also prevent keloid formation by using pressure treatment or gel pads with silicone when you are injured. Keloid scars are most common among people with dark skin.
- Contracture scars. If your skin has been burned, you may have a contracture scar. These scars tighten skin, which can impair your ability to move. Contracture scars may also go deeper, affecting muscles and nerves.Hypertrophic scars. These are raised, red scars that are similar to keloids but do not go beyond the boundary of the injury. Treatments include injections of steroids to reduce inflammation or silicone sheets, which flatten the scar.
- Acne scars. If you've had severe acne, you probably have the scars to prove it. There are many types of acne scars, ranging from deep pits to scars that are angular or wavelike in appearance. Treatment options depend on the types of acne scars you have.
At Aesthetica, the approach to scar treatment philosophy is that the initial assessment of the scars by the dermatologists is quite essential to acquire the best results through different therapeutic procedures.
Hence, we provide people with counselling about the possible consequences of procedures like skin grafting, dermabrasions, laser surgery or excision. While laser surgery produces the finest results, it is not possible to solve all scar tissues with the same feature and hence people should be counselled about the best line of treatment.
We suggest for a meet up at our clinic for an effective guidance on making that odd scar of yours, go away.
Rosacea (roe-ZAY-she-uh) is a common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in your face. It may also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps. These signs and symptoms may flare up for a period of weeks to months and then diminish for a while. Rosacea can be mistaken for acne, an allergic reaction or other skin problems.
Rosacea can occur in anyone. But it most commonly affects middle-aged women who have fair skin. While there's no cure for rosacea, treatments can control and reduce the signs and symptoms. If you experience persistent redness of your face, see your doctor for a diagnosis and proper treatment.
Signs and symptoms of rosacea may include:
-Facial redness. Rosacea usually causes a persistent redness in the central part of your face. Small blood vessels on your nose and cheeks often swell and become visible.
-Swollen red bumps. Many people who have rosacea also develop pimples on their face that resemble acne. These bumps sometimes contain pus. Your skin may feel hot and tender.
-Eye problems. About half of the people who have rosacea also experience eye dryness, irritation and swollen, reddened eyelids. In some people, rosacea's eye symptoms precede the skin symptoms.
-Enlarged nose. Rarely, rosacea can thicken the skin on the nose, causing the nose to appear bulbous (rhinophyma). This occurs more often in men than in women.
If you experience persistent redness of your face, see your doctor or a skin specialist (dermatologist) for a diagnosis and proper treatment.
There's no specific test for rosacea. Instead, doctors rely on the history of your symptoms and a physical examination of your skin. In some cases, your doctor may have you undergo tests to rule out other conditions, such as other forms of acne, psoriasis, eczema or lupus. These conditions can sometimes cause signs and symptoms similar to those of rosacea.
If your eyes are involved, your doctor may refer you to an eye specialist (ophthalmologist).
At Aesthetica, Treatment for rosacea focuses on controlling signs and symptoms. Most often this requires a combination of skin care and prescription treatments. The duration of your treatment depends on the type and severity of your symptoms. Recurrence is common.
Laser therapy may help reduce the redness of enlarged blood vessels. Other options for treating visible blood vessels and changes due to rhinophyma are dermabrasion, intense pulsed light therapy and electrosurgery.
There are various medications, the choice of the right ones being important for quick healing of the rosacea, which may be due to different reasons.
Hence, we suggest for a meet up at our clinic for an effective guidance and determination of best solutions for the treatments.
Many people are born with birthmarks. For others, they appear within the first few weeks of life. Birthmarks can be brown, tan, blue, pink or red. Vascular birthmarks are made up of blood vessels bunched together in the skin. They can be flat or raised, pink, red or bluish discolorations. Pigmented birthmarks are flat, light brown patches on the skin that can occur anywhere on the body. The exact cause of birthmarks is unknown.
Birthmarks are generally caused by overgrowth of blood vessels, melanocytes, smooth muscle, fat, fibroblasts, or keratinocytes.
Dermatologists divide birthmarks into two types. Pigmented birthmarks caused by excess skin pigment cells include moles, café au lait spots, and Mongolian spots. Vascular birthmarks, also called red birthmarks, are caused by increased blood vessels and include macular stains (salmon patches), hemangiomas, and Port-wine stains. A little over 1 in 10 babies have a vascular birthmark present by age 1. Several birthmark types are part of the group of skin lesions known as nevi or naevi, which means "birthmarks" in Latin.
Why treat birthmarks?
Birthmarks – especially port wine stains on the face – can create emotional, social and economic burdens.
Sometimes a birthmark that grows or shrinks rapidly can form an open sore or ulcer. These sores can be painful and can become infected. It's very important to see a dermatologist and keep this sore clean and covered with antibiotic ointment and a dressing.
Birthmarks located near bodily orifices can cause special problems and should be monitored closely by a dermatologist.
At Aesthetica, we analyze the skin in depth and design a treatment that best suits to the present scenario of the conditions.
By properly assessing the scenario of the birthmark, it can be ascertained if the birthmark is possible to be ablated by the laser beams or not. With our expert laser dermatologists, our patients get the best possible treatment, with quite an improved system of removal of birthmark, which is not possible to be seen after the procedure is completed.
Wrinkles are creases, folds, or ridges in the skin. They normally appear as people get older, but they can also develop after spending a long time in water.
Wrinkles, a natural part of aging, are most prominent on sun-exposed skin, such as the face, neck, hands and forearms. Most wrinkles tend to appear in the parts of the body which receive the most sun exposure, especially the face and neck, the back of the hands, and the arms.
Facial expressions, for example, repeatedly smiling, frowning, or squinting can also lead to fine lines and wrinkles at a younger age.
When a person is young, the skin springs back, but as they get older, the skin loses its flexibility. Springing back becomes harder and less frequent, resulting in more permanent grooves.
A number of avoidable, environmental factors also contribute.
Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, for example, through sunbathing, tanning booths, and outdoor sports increases the chance of developing wrinkles earlier. UV light breaks down the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin. These fibers form the skin's connective tissue. They are located under the surface of the skin, and they support the skin. Breaking down this layer causes the skin to become weaker and less flexible. The skin starts to droop, and wrinkles appear.
Regular smoking accelerates the aging process of skin, because of the reduced blood supply to the skin. Alcohol dehydrates the skin, and dry skin is more likely to wrinkle.
If your wrinkles bother you, you have more options than ever to help smooth them or make them less visible. And if you're concerned about the appearance of your skin, see a dermatologist.
At Aesthetica, wrinkle treatments are done only by board-certified doctors and physician assistants or nurses with special training in cosmetic procedures. This multidisciplinary team of experts collaborates on your care, taking all your needs into account. Many of Aesthetica's medical experts have earned national reputations for their expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

Age spots — also called liver spots and solar lentigines — are small dark areas on your skin. They vary in size and usually appear on the face, hands, shoulders and arms — areas most exposed to the sun.
Age spots are very common in adults older than 50. But younger people can get them too, especially if they spend a lot of time in the sun.
Age spots can look like cancerous growths. But true age spots are harmless and can be treated.
Age spots may affect people of all skin types, but they're more common in people with light skin. Age spots:
-Are flat, oval areas of increased pigmentation
-Are usually tan, brown or black
-Occur on skin that has had the most sun exposure over the years, such as the backs of hands, tops of feet, face, shoulders and upper back
-Age spots range from freckle size to about a 1/2 inch (13 millimeters) across and can group together, making them more noticeable.
These are generally caused by overactive pigment cells. Ultraviolet (UV) light accelerates the production of melanin. On the areas of skin that have had years of frequent and prolonged sun exposure, age spots appear when melanin becomes "clumped" or is produced in high concentrations.
It's best to have any new skin changes evaluated by a doctor, especially if a spot:
-Is darkly pigmented
-Is rapidly increasing in size
-Has an irregular border
-Has an unusual combination of colors
-Is accompanied by itching, redness, tenderness or bleeding
At Aesthetica; if you want your age spots to be less noticeable, treatments are available to lighten or remove them. Since the pigment is located at the base of the epidermis — the topmost layer of skin — any treatments meant to lighten the age spots must penetrate this layer of skin for which we use less aggressive approach that leaves mild skin blemishes with a smoother appearance. You'll need a series of procedures over months to get the full effect.
Basis their detailed observation, and depending on the type and severity of conditions, a combination of advanced solutions are customized for you at Aesthetica’s state-of-the art facilities. This will help you treat your skin without any side effects. We also ensure that your skin heals properly so that pigmentation and scarring is minimized.
Every person desires flawless clear skin and perfect complexion. But factors such as free radicals, hormonal changes and sun exposure can damage your skin texture leading to patchy pigmentation and dark spots, making you look older.
Pigmentation is basically the presence of dark (hyperpigmentation) or light (hypopigmentation) patches on the skin. It is a commonly observed concern. It is not life-threatening, but it can definitely give sleepless nights to those who desire a clear and even skin tone.
Our skin has melanocytes. These are cells that produce pigment called melanin which gives skin its color. The number of melanocytes present in our skin determines our skin colour. Melanin apart from giving skin its color, protects our skin from the damaging effects of sun radiation. The more our skin is exposed to sunrays, the more melanin is produced by melanocytes. This excess melanin is then deposited under the skin, which leads to skin tan, darker patches or pigmentation.
Another reason for pigmentation can be hormonal imbalance, usually triggered during pregnancy or by using birth pills. This condition is termed as melasma. Other reasons include acne and skin concerns like dermatitis, eczema etc.
Pigmentation can be classified into epidermal (superficial), dermal (deep), and mixed. So, basis how severe the skin problem, we can recommend the right pigmentation treatment which will be a combination of chemical peels or lasers to say goodbye to pigmentation.
At Aesthetica, we believe that a holistic approach is necessary and crucial in treating and controlling further pigmentation. Its root cause is present deep within the skin, hence needs guidance and treatment from an expert dermatologist. We at Aesthetica, offer specialized services that include highly effective ingredients and technologies. These services are explicitly preferred for their exceptional properties that help correct tan, pigmentation, dark spots and age spots, giving you a clearer and radiant complexion.
We suggest to step into an Aesthetica clinic, where our expert dermatologists can carry out a thorough skin analysis to understand the lifestyle and diagnosed cause of your pigmentation.
We all want satiny smooth skin, unfortunately big pores often stand in the way of having that.
When skin produces too much oil it mixes with dead skin in the pore, forming a clog that causes it to enlarge. If the oil becomes trapped by dead skin, it oxidizes, forming a blackhead.
There are a number of factors that will cause large pores, but of the many, there are three main culprits. The first one is age. As we age we will naturally lose the elasticity in the surrounding skin that supports the pores, causing pores to appear bigger than they actually are. Secondly, men are more likely to have larger pores compared to women from their genetic makeup and increased oil production. And last but not least, our body uses a substance called Sebum, which naturally hydrates our skin to prevent from drying. This substance however is very oily and individuals who produce more than average will find that oily skin causes larger pores.
Blackheads and enlarged pores are stubborn skin concerns—you may feel as though you've tried everything to get rid of them only to find what you used made matters worse or didn’t help at all. Using the right products consistently can help minimize these issues, but you need to know exactly what works and what doesn't, as well as how enlarged pores and blackheads form in the first.
We at Aesthetica, helps in achieving the desired results for the minimizing of large pores and removal of blackheads by analyzing to the point and knowing which parts of your skincare routine could be making the problem worse, as well as which products are going to deliver the best results and can serve as your best defense against blackheads and enlarged pores.
Our approaches mainly; but not limited to, include –
Cleansing
Exfoliation
Topical Treatments
Chemical Peels
Fractional Non-Ablative Laser Skin Resurfacing
IPL Photofacial
Photodynamic Therapy
Smart Makeup
Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun can cause premature skin aging, skin cancer and other conditions such as:
-Skin texture changes, such as coarse wrinkles, especially on the back of the neck, and fine wrinkles caused by thinning of the skin, especially on the forearms and back of hands.
-Excessive bruising from minor trauma.
-Pigment changes, such as brown spots, freckles, age spots and liver spots.
-White spots on legs, arms and the back of hands.
-Red areas on the sides of the neck.
-Moles, some of which can develop into skin cancer.
-Pre-cancerous skin changes, including red scaly lesions called actinic keratosis and lesions on the lips called actinic cheilitis, both of which can develop into squamous cell carcinoma.
To protect itself from the damaging effects of the sun, your skin increases its production of the dark brown pigment called melanin. The extra melanin makes your skin look darker or sun-tanned. In some cases, the sun causes an uneven increase in melanin production, which produces irregular coloring (pigmentation) of the skin. The sun can also cause a permanent stretching of small blood vessels, giving your skin a mottled, reddish appearance.
If you don't like the older face looking at you in the mirror, you can "reset" the sun's damage and the skin's aging process with these safe and effective options.
At Aesthetica, we have adopted a holistic approach towards reversing sun damaged skin to a new rejuvenating look.
Some of the approaches at Aesthetica include the following options.
The first option for reversing sun damage is to use medical-grade skin care products containing Retin-A and/or Hydroquinones. These topical medications can reverse the thymine dimers and make the cells healthier again as well as reduce age spots and skin pigmentation.
Another option is to use Broad Based Light (BBL) to restore health to sun damaged skin. Studies from Stanford1 have demonstrated that regular BBL treatments improved skin texture and age spots and reverts the skin on a genetic level back to a younger state.
A third option involves a surgical procedure I developed called RESET for Sun Damage. It uses an ablative resurfacing laser to remove layers of sun-damaged skin. This procedure allows the skin to repair itself, forming new healthy skin containing new collagen and elastic fibers.
Dark circles under the eyes are a source of annoyance and a cosmetic problem for both men and women. The main cause of dark circles is due to ‘blood pooling’ under the eyes and it shows up more prominently in persons with a fair skin. Popularly called as ‘panda eyes’, they can be camouflaged with makeup and stop gap solutions like creams. A permanent solution is only possible with effective and customised under eye dark circle treatment, as the cause is different in each case. Some of the major causes for under eye dark circles include:
-Lack of sleep
-Fatigue
-Genetic predisposition
-Sun damage
-Adverse lifestyle habits and excessive alcohol intake
-Natural ageing
Getting rid of dark circles is of utmost importance as they can make you appear tired or fatigued all the time even if you are not while also make you appear older than you actually are. Such an appearance can hinder you professional and personal life and thus getting rid of dark circles is important.
The main reason for the formation of dark circles is due to the blood vessels under the eyelid losing stability and strength. Conditions like fluid imbalance or local swelling that lead to puffy or swollen eyelids can cause shadows that make the area under the eyes appear darker. However, there can be many other factors that contribute to the formation of dark circles. Fatigue, vitamin deficiency, hyperpigmentation, allergies, medical conditions or even something as natural as ageing can lead to dark circles. One of the most common factors or cause of dark circles can also be heredity.
Aesthetica uses a holistic approach to remove dark circles by combining Glycolic peels, Microcurrent and Homecare Solutions.
Glycolic peels break apart the dead cell layer and bring fresher skin to the surface, reducing pigmentation around the eyes.
Microcurrent makes the under-eye area firmer while also supplying it with additional hydration. Our expert dermatologists, then, advise you on lifestyle habits and homecare regimes to ensure that you enjoy long-lasting results.
With Aesthetica's Dark Circle Reduction, your eyes lose their tired look and are completely refreshed. General options include -
Reduced Pigmentation: Glycolic peels break apart the dead cell layer and bring the fresher skin to the surface. This effectively reduces pigmentation around the eyes.
Eye Hydration and Firming: Microcurrent makes the under eye area firmer while also supplying it with additional hydration.
To maximize these results, a customized homecare regime will be drawn up by an Aesthetica dermatologist to suit your skin's specific needs. We will draw up a suitable regime for you so that your eyes remain sparkling fresh for as long as you want.
Aesthetica also has effective products that work in harmony with the treatment to enhance the results. Additionally, the dermatologist may suggest lifestyle changes to sustain the results.
We combine the magic of Glycolic peels with other treatments to help in a more effective way in the process of getting rid of dark circles.
